Home How You Can Help Staff & Mentors Church Involvement APPC News Updates

Churches play a very important role in the pregnancy care ministry. Pastors can refer individuals to us for counsel and mentors refer clients to various churches.  Church attenders can support us financially, materially and prayerfully. Often a pastor is the first person that hears or knows about a crisis pregnancy, a lack of sexual integrity, an abortion, or about post-abortion stress. Because congregations are composed of human beings, chances are there is sin and there is pain and it’s good to know that we can help each other transmit God’s plan of love and forgiveness to those who are hurting for whatever reason.

If statistics are correct, one in four women (and therefore their baby’s father) are affected by abortion – which means directly or indirectly because of a family member or loved one. We know that the spiritual effects of abortion are often as great as the physical and emotional ones. Often the woman feels unforgiveable, cast out, degraded and alone. The post-traumatic stress following abortion is akin to that experienced by soldiers in battle. Except we know it’s a spiritual battle and we know that the victory has already been won!

How can your church help? Get information to your parishioners about our services. Have our director come and speak to your adult Sunday School class, women’s Bible study, youth group or other small group meetings – about sexual integrity and God’s plan. Adopt APCC as a mission and give financially once a month. Pray for specific needs that we have – for our volunteers, for our operations, for our clients. Refer clients to us whenever you can. Send us information about your church services so that we can, in turn, refer you to our clients.
